Over the last month there have been so many singles and projects I have wanted to cover, yet was unable to. My time has been split recently on some projects I’m excited about. And while I can’t explain in full (yet), I thought I would catch you up on some unseen progress.
I have been mixing and mastering for a few projects, something I want to expand further. This has pushed me to take some steps that I have been considering, which is the process of forming a company for Puddlegum (not just working under my own name). The company isn’t official yet, but it won’t be long.
My goals for this company is expand the blog by bringing in more writers, content creatives, and curators. It’s also my goal to open a professional recording studio in Bloomington, Indiana (under the Puddlegum name). There are many directions this could go, and I have quite a few steps to take in order to make this a reality. But I am working hard to truly develop Puddlegum into a space that supports artists, both in bringing exposure and in helping artists in the creative process (record, mixing, mastering, etc.). And yes, I do want to fully develop the podcast.
If you know me personally, you know that I’m a dreamer and a big thinker. I tend to fly at 10,000 feet, and sometimes I try things that don’t stick. Combining a blog and running a recording studio that I can work out of has been a dream of mine for many years. Up until this point, I’ve made excuses for why I can’t do this. But I’m running out of excuses.
If you’re looking for a mix engineer, you can connect with @Puddlegum.Studio on Instagram (a website is under development). I would love to talk about how we might work together on your project. You can hear my work on Saeyers, which I co-produced Marshall Baker, engineered, mixed, mastered, and helped market (Marshall wrote and performed everything, and was involved in all aspects). I will be sharing new music I mixed/mastered really soon!
Starting on June 21, you can find me working on Puddlegum at The Dimension Mill, a great open workspace for coworking and entrepreneurship in Bloomington, Indiana. Hit me up if you’re in the area; we’ll grab coffee and talk music!
