dad sports releases ‘nrvs again’ (single and video)

dad sports – nrvs again (YouTube)

Canadian band dad sports released a new music video for their new single, nrvs again. The music video was directed by Noah Keckler, the talented director who created the TEEN BLUSH video for Extra Ordinary and dad sports’ name & place video. dad sports is a three-piece from Ottawa, Ontario, whose members are all twenty years old.

In the music video, DePaul student Cassandra Schafer relieves stress by reliving her childhood in her college dorm room, jumping in a ball pit, having a tea party, and jumping on her bed. The video matches the lyrics of nrvs again, which speaks on anxiety surrounding the transition into adulthood. “I’ve got a ways to go,” sings Miguel Plante. “Feels like I’m nervous again. No it doesn’t take much these days.”

nrvs again is synth-driven, mixing playful programmed beats, chorus heavy guitar picking, dreamy pads, and tight layered vocal harmonies. The song is less guitar centered than gf haircut or name & place. nrvs again is a fun single with plenty of pop sensibilities, and the video production is very professional.
