Dead Rituals, the moniker of Italian artist Andrea Caccese, released a new dreamy dark pop single, Forget Me. Andrea mixes elements from numerous influences, from dream pop and shoegaze, to psychedelia and post-punk. This single follows two cover songs that he released earlier this year (a dark but brilliant cover of Neil Young’s Harvest Moon, and one of his favorite Ramones songs, Here Today, Gone Tomorrow).
They accurately describe the song as portraying, “a darker mood in line with the times, exploring the idea of living with loneliness without being swallowed by it.” You can hear this in the dramatic and expressive lyrics:

and hang me out to dry
Conquer Me
I’ll bleed until I die
Andrea tracked Forget Met in his project studio in Naples, where he performed most instruments. He layered drums, mixed experimental guitar looping, played the Glockenspiel, bass, and synths. He brought in composer Guido Minervini on guitar, and Brita Penfold on vocals and spoken word.
Dead Rituals have released eleven original studio tracks (including two acoustic versions), nine clever cover songs, and a remix. We really enjoyed Dead Rituals II EP, and look forward to hearing more!
