Kevin Flick
Kevin Flick founded Puddlegum in 1997 and has been engaging in music journalism off and on since. He's also a recording/mixing engineer and loves to help bands work through the creative process. He has coproduced and mixed for artists such as Saeyers, Midi Memory, and Cathedral Bells.
Rumors are that he's a Brighton Hove & Albion FC fan. He's also obsessed with coffee. Kevin resides in the college community of Bloomington, Indiana, where he studied at Indiana University.
Mix Review: Ruby Haunt – Sunbelt
Ruby Haunt's The Middle of Nowhere was one of my favorite albums in 2019. It took me to an inner place, as though I were on a long drive, gazing out the window at the changing landscape. So I was thrilled when they released Sunbelt, a nine-minute single, in March.

Montreal artist MUNYA released a new single, Boca Chica, on Luminelle (a label managed by the Gorilla vs Bear folks). I’m confident you’ll dig this driving pop song by Josianne Boivin, the artist behind MUNYA.
Mix Review: Video Age – Shadow On The Wall
Video Age has released a new single full of hooks, Shadow On The Wall. The song is just as addictive and danceable as their 2018 Pop Therapy. The new single was released on local label Winspear, with the promise of a forthcoming album.

New Vern Matz music video for Vagabond was released today. It's a beautiful video of driving across the United States, with miles of open fields and changing scenery.
Mix Review: Hoops – English Breakfast
Bloomington artists Hoops released an EP called English Breakfast, comprised of two covers of British bands. They cover Coldplay’s Don’t Panic, and The Clientele’s Reflections After Jane, both originally released in 2000.
Music Video: Vilde – Grace
Vilde's video for Grace shows Thomas Savage entering into a dark and listless arcade late at night. Savage overlays the droning backdrop of electric guitars with a heartfelt poetic reading. "Who is the one with the broken wing?" he asks.
Journal: A waterfall of music
I can't express how good it feels to write about music again. I hope to establish Puddlegum (again) as a place to find curated music. 40,000 songs are added to Spotify every day, so this is a daunting task. It's like a waterfall of new music, and all we have is a bucket.
Mix Review: Vern Matz – Vagabond
Vagabond by Vern Matz is a contemplative song to soak in during these days of quarantine. There's a lot to enjoy about this mix, and I will gladly listen to more.
