Cannons released a crushing dream pop song called Bad Dream. This new single is so smooth, with synth tones from an eighties dream, and hypnotic beats. More songs are coming in 2021.
Michelle Joy leads Cannons on vocals. Ryan Clapham joins her on guitar, and Paul Davis on drums and keys. She is the daughter of an Olympic athlete and professional track coach (he trained her as a runner). Nine years ago she moved to Los Angelas from Florida, and from there she formed Cannons after meeting Ryan and Paul through Craigslist (source).
Just six weeks ago, Fire For You (released on Columbia Records) sat at number one on Billboard Alternative Charts and number one on Alt Radio two weeks prior. It was a placement on Never Have I Ever (Netflix) that pushed it up the charts, while the song had been originally released in 2019. It remained intermittently on the charts for eighteen weeks (source). They released a remix of the single earlier this year, Fire For You (King Henry Remix).
While we generally write about artists who are entirely independent, Bad Dream is relevant to the styles we cover (and this song is so good). Thanks David Dean Burkhart for the find.

The Berlin influence is unmistakable. Cannons have done such great songs and Bad Dream takes it to a new level as they grow.
