Bleu is the latest album from French Police, a three piece Chicago-based project led by Brian Flores. With beautifully crafted new wave that sounds like a romantic and haunting meld of soulful styles reminiscent of The Cure.

Bleu has amazing textures of old and new sounds that blend together harmoniously. Creating dreamy soundscapes. The opening song Hunny begins with that familiar “electronic” drum fill into melodic guitar riffs and a driving bass guitar. With the perfect blend of baritone vocals. CDMX has that nostalgic electro pop sound with amazing ambient undertones of synth.

With this three-piece lineup founded by Flores, they have created their own take on a nostalgic sound of both synth pop and post punk. With fans steadily growing in numbers around the nation since their inception and numerous followers on Instagram. French Police have amassed more than 24.000 listeners per month on Spotify alone. Their popular track Hidalgo from the EP Pedaleo Nocturno has more than 215,000 plays and counting.

In the Spring of 2021 French Police added the talents of bassist Rolando Donjon and lead guitarist Manny Herrera. With growing aspirations and dreams, a tour of the West Coast is happening.

With several lineup changes and making the wrong type of music causing fallouts, Flores remained the only constant member. The band began to reform during the pandemic which proved difficult, as one can imagine. There were no signs of being able to perform live shows and gaining a local following. They were reliant on the internet, as we all were. But the lineup has solidified and fortunately as become possible again.

Needless to say things have been picking up for French Police.
