Review: Jeshua – ‘Unreliable Narrator’ (LP)

Glasgow artist Jeshua (Joshua Gray) released his debut full-length, Unreliable Narrator. This is a lo-fi bedroom pop album of ten tracks. Gray has been releasing singles from this album as he’s created them for the past year, usually releasing alternative mixes of his songs.

Jeshua mixes clean electric guitar tones with drum loops, bass, minimal synths, slide guitar, and occasional fuzzy guitar. He adorns his guitar with a smooth chorus pedal. Waste Away is a favorite track of mine, blending all of these elements really well. Esther is a standout song that you’ll play on repeat.

If you enjoy minimalistic bedroom pop, you’ll love Unreliable Narrator. These are straightforward songs with honest sounds.
